An evacuation order and alert have been rescinded near Lytton, B.C., after firefighters declared that a nearby wildfire is “being held” and is no longer considered likely to spread.

An evacuation order and alert have been rescinded near Lytton, B.C., after firefighters declared that a nearby wildfire is “being held” and is no longer considered likely to spread.

The BC Wildfire Service says the downgrading of the fire’s status is due to “significant efforts” of firefighters with the help of favourable weather, and the Izman Creek blaze north of Lytton is no longer considered a wildfire of note.
