This $1-billion ɫɫÀ² courthouse was forced to shut down Monday morning due to an electrical problem

The Armoury Street courthouse is among the busiest in the country, and the shutdown means potentially hundreds of criminal cases set to be heard Monday were put on hold until the outage was resolved.Ìý

ɫɫÀ²’s provincial courthouse was forced to shut down Monday morning due to an internet outage caused by blown electrical breakers within the relatively new $1-billion building.

Systems slowly came back online by the afternoon. According to staff emails obtained by the Star, the morning outage caused the operations of two courtrooms as well as case management courts at the Ontario Court of Justice at 10 Armoury St. to be sent across the street to the Superior Court of Justice, while all other trial and plea courtrooms were put on hold.Ìý
