In his 17-season MLB career, Walker hit 383 home runs and batted in 1,311 runs. The B.C. product — raised in Maple Ridge, a suburb of Greater Vancouver — had his best season in 1997 with the Colorado Rockies, when he hit 49 home runs and won the National League’s most valuable player award.Ìý

As Trump mused about Canada becoming the 51st state before entering the Oval Office, Canadian and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky attended his inauguration. Trump had recommended Gretzky consider running for prime minister, which he said was “soon to be known as the governor of Canada.”ÌýÌý

Reacting to the tax, Trump said it was a “direct and blatant attack” on the U.S.,Ìýthreatening toÌýend all trade talks with Canada and slap the countryÌýwith additional tariffs.Ìý
