A little more than a year after taking over as CEO of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Tim Leiweke is denying rumours he’ll soon be leaving the company.

Tim Leiweke, the former head of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment who left the company in 2015, has been indicted by a U.S. grand jury for allegedly conspiring to rig the bidding process for an arena at the University of Texas at Austin.
Leiweke’s company, Oak View Group did not immediately respond to the Star’s request for comment.

According to the indictment, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Leiweke struck an agreement with the CEO of an opposing bidder that would see the company back down on bidding for the arena’s contract in exchange for receiving subcontracts.
“Unfair business practices, like those employed here, make it very difficult for the American people to pursue prosperity like our founders intended,” said Justin Simmons, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas, in a statement. “We’re proud to work with our colleagues in the Antitrust Division on these types of cases, and we will do all we can to ensure those who engage in the type of conduct described in this case are held to account.”
