A bicyclist has been charged after they collided with a vehicle in Vaughan on Tuesday afternoon.
York Regional Police responded to the collision near around 3 p.m.
When they arrived at the scene, officers saw a vehicle in the right-turn, northbound lane on Dufferin Street and a damaged bicycle nearby. At the time, the 17-year-old cyclist was being treated by paramedics and was later taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver was not injured.Â

Police later learned the cyclist had been riding on the road in the opposite direction of traffic and hadn’t been wearing a helmet when the collision happened.
Officers charged the teen with careless driving and operating a bicycle with no helmet.
