A driver collided with several parked cars, including some that had people sitting in them, officers said in a .Ìý

In total, five people, including a woman, 45, who was walking in the area, were taken to hospital, police said  Monday afternoon. All were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. Police previously said three people were taken to hospital.

After the collisions, the driver tried to run away, police said. A 36-year-old Markham man was arrested at the scene and charged with impaired driving, police said.

The man was also charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of failure to stop at the scene of an accident and possession of a weapon.
