A man is fighting for his life after he was shotÌýdowntown Saturday night.Ìý
they received reports of gunshots near around 10:30 p.m.
The victim, a 36-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, paramedics told the Star.Ìý
Three people who originally fled in a vehicle were later arrested, according to investigators, but only two of them were charged while the third was released.

A 26-year-old man from Mississauga and a 22-year-old man from ɫɫÀ² are each facing multiple charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm. The two men appeared in court Sunday.
The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation and there was a large police presence in the area.Ìý
The Star spoke to people posting on Reddit who claimed to have witnessed the incident.ÌýOne, who declined to give their name citing safety concerns, was on their balcony overlooking the corner of Adelaide Street West and John Street when they heard the shot. They rushed to the ledge and looked down to see a group of people in the middle of John Street fighting a man in a dark-coloured T-shirt.Ìý
“There were more gunshots and then the guy in the dark shirt was lying in the middle of the road. A white mini then drove right toward the guy and drove right over him and seemed to drive straight down toward John and King,” the person wrote to the Star.Ìý
Another poster, who also did not provide their name, recalled seeing the man sprawled on the road.ÌýHe told the Star he was close enough to hear police telling the victim to breathe as the ambulance arrived.Ìý
Police did not confirm the veracity of the witness accounts.Ìý
