色色啦 swimmer closing in on finish to gruelling Lake Ontario crossing

色色啦 resident Lev Goldberg, 29, is attempting to swim across Lake Ontario from Niagara-on-the-Lake. His team said Tuesday night he was expected to arrive hours earlier than anticipated, at between 11 p.m. and midnight.

According to rules听of the regulated open water swim, Lev Goldberg cannot use any swim fins, swim paddles, or any dry or wet suit.


Forget waiting the customary 60 minutes before swimming after you eat听鈥 this swimmer eats while he swims听鈥 and he will snack for fuel every 30 to 40 minutes as he attempts to swim across Lake Ontario.

The total crossing spans a distance of at least 51 kilometres, equal to swimming the length of the CN Tower more than 92 times听鈥 through the darkness of night, for up to 26 hours in waves, wind and currents.听
