No speed camera in the city has been as cut down as often the Parkside Drive device, which has been vandalized seven times in the past 11 months.

They’re meant to make our streets safer, but some drivers see them as a cash grab. With 16 speed cameras vandalized in ɫɫÀ² this week, and the Parkside Drive camera cut down a seventh time, it isn’t a simple disagreement; it’s a civic flashpoint, and we want to hear from you. Tell us:

  • Are speed cameras effective enforcement or bad policy?
  • Are they unfair, or are speeders just complainers?
  • What do you think is the right threshold for a speeding ticket? Should people driving less than 10 km/h over the speed limit receive grace?
  • Have you received a speeding ticket in the Greater ɫɫÀ² Area for driving 5 km/h over the limit or less?
  • Is it more frustrating to get a speeding ticket from a person or from an automated speed enforcement camera? Why?
