The world just became a bigger, more gorgeous and much more exciting place; because our granddaughter was born. At a time so cruelly volatile and dangerous, in a culture increasingly unforgiving and judgmental, a small example of purity and hope has joined humanity.

Why, people ask, would your daughter have had a child at a time like this? Those people, if only they knew it, are part of the problem. The antidote to despair is optimism, and nothing gives us more optimism than new, pristine life.
