VANCOUVER - The B.C. Supreme Court has granted an injunction to a forestry company to halt a blockade against old-growth logging in the Walbran Valley on Vancouver Island, in a ruling that has been hailed by a group of First Nations that want the “unlawful occupation” ended.

VANCOUVER - The B.C. Supreme Court has granted an injunction to a forestry company to halt a blockade against old-growth logging in the Walbran Valley on Vancouver Island, in a ruling that has been hailed by a group of First Nations that want the “unlawful occupation” ended. 

The protesters are mostly anonymous although B.C. Supreme Court Justice Amy Francis said Friday that they include some of the same group involved in the blockade at nearby Fairy Creek that resulted in more than 1,000 arrests.
