About 2,100 lock carabiners were sold in Canada with 12,600 more sold in the United States between March 2024 and July 2025. There have been 21 reports of breaks between the two nations, though none have led to injuries so far, the agency added.
Officials warn that the faulty carabiners could cause serious injury or even death from falling.Â
Anyone who bought the piece of equipment can contact C.A.M.P. USA Inc. or  online to get a free inspection and possibly a refund if the product is found to be broken.Â
The recalled carabiners have batch numbers of 10 23, 11 23, 12 23, 02 24, 09 24, 10 24, 12 24, 01 25, 02 25 and 06 25. The number can be found on the side of the bottom of the carabiner.
Canada’s Consumer Product Safety act now bans anybody from selling or even giving away the carabiners.Â
