Why a small sticker slapped on your blue bin has ɫɫÀ² city hall in a big uproar

New provincial rules will change who is responsible for collecting and disposing of recyclables in ɫɫÀ² as the city’s landfill nears capacity.

It’s a small sticker slapped on the side of ɫɫÀ² blue bins, but it signals a big — and possibly difficult — change to one to the city’s most basic services.Ìý

Come Jan. 1, ɫɫÀ²’s residential recycling program is being privatized and a corporation, not the municipal government,Ìýwill be responsible for collecting curbside blue boxes.Ìý
