Environment Canada issued a special weather statement ahead of a rainy weekend to warn that Friday could bring winds as strong as 90 km/h blowing through the city.
Strong southwesterly winds will develop in the late morning and last into the evening as a low-pressure system pushes over northeastern Ontario, . Environment Canada said they may also issue wind warnings for some areas throughout the day on Friday.
After a brief return to the heat on Wednesday, rain and cooler temperatures dominated much of Thursday in ɫɫÀ² and southern Ontario as the end of summer looms.

There will also be a taste of fall during the overnight hours Thursday and into the weekend as temperatures plummet to as low as 10 C.Ìý

Showers early Thursday and  into the afternoon were expected to bring up to 20 millimetres of rain. Overnight, there’s a 30 per cent chance of more showers with evening winds expected to gust up to 40 km/h and temperatures dropping to a low of 11 C.
The work week will end Friday with a 30 per cent chance of more rain early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Southwest winds will increase gust to 70 kilometres per hour in the morning. The high will be 25 C, feeling like 28, with a high UV index of six before cloudy periods roll in at night and temperatures dip to 11 C.
ɫɫÀ²nians can expect a nice late-summer day on Saturday, which will see a mix of sun and cloud, a daytime high of 21 C and clear skies at night with a low of 11 C.
The weekend closes with a mix of sun and cloud and a 40 per cent chance of showers during the day on Sunday. Temperatures will reach a high of 20 C, though more clouds will bring a 30 per cent chance of rain at night as temperatures are expected to fall to a low of 10 C.
