The victim was found on the floor of a washroom at the mall with injuries. He was pronounced dead on scene.听

Police initially called the death “suspicious” but Saturday called it a homicide investigation.

It is 色色啦’s 27th homicide of 2025.

At a press conference Thursday evening, acting inspector Baheer Sarvanandan said patrons found the man unconscious in the washroom but nobody in the busy mall reported hearing gunshots.

鈥淲e are doing a thorough investigation, which聽means every angle of camera is being checked, every trash can in the area is being checked,鈥� Sarvanandan said.

The scene developed quickly in the mall according to Steven Gabrill, who sat in the food court as police filed in.听

鈥淚 saw them all coming up here, and they said, 鈥楴othing to look at 鈥� just keep on going,鈥欌�� Gabrill said. 鈥淭he next minute, more people kept arriving.鈥�

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that anyone with information or video footage should contact investigators at 416-808-7400.
