Famed sports broadcaster Bob McCown announced the news in a brief Facebook post — while leaving the door open slightly.
“I regret to inform you that ‘The Bob McCown Podcast’ will not continue in the foreseeable future. After more than 1,000 episodes I have decided not to keep going,” McCown wrote, while also thanking past guests and co-hosts over the years.
“I have another project which will garner my attention. I will tell you more soon. I enjoyed doing it. Talk to you soon!”

The 72-year-old McCown had hosted the popular podcast regularly since 2020, after he left Sportsnet and “Prime Time Sports,” which aired from 1989 to 2019.
He suffered a pair of strokes last summer, with co-hosts John Shannon and Dave Hodge keeping the show going during his recovery.
In a lengthy chat with Bruce Arthur, McCown detailed how drastically life has changed, and how he’s only partway back. “I really miss being normal.”
About three months ago, , though not retiring from broadcasting entirely.
“When we started the podcast, neither of us knew what we were doing,” he told McCown in his final appearance. “I have laughed, I have cried, I have argued, as you have, and it’s been a real thrill to be around you for as long as I have been. And hopefully this isn’t the last time we speak, but it’s time for us to turn the page and move on to something else.”
