17-year-old arrested after shootout in front of west-end ɫɫÀ² high school
Police have charged a teenager with attempted murder and several firearm-related offences after both a driver and a 17-year-old were injured by gunfire.

Police have charged a teenager with attempted murder and several firearm-related offences after both a driver and a 17-year-old were injured by gunfire.
The teen was on probation for earlier offences, a ɫɫÀ² Police press release said. He cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Youth criminal records are not accessible to the media without a judge’s order.
The daylight gunfight around noon on Wednesday happened between two groups who exchanged shots on the second day of school outside York Memorial Collegiate Institute on Keele Street near Donald Avenue.

Police said the teenager who was injured was allegedly involved in the shootout. A 31-year-old woman was driving on Keele Street when she was caught in the crossfire.
Both were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police say another young person arrested at the scene has since been released.
One bystander told the Star students from the high school and children at a nearby daycare were outside when at least 10 shots were fired, the groups shooting at each other across the road.
The shooting sent York Memorial into lockdown and several other nearby schools into a hold and secure.
